There are several nice murals on this page. I really liked the one shown above--a tribute to Henry Ossawa Tanner. It's located on a little street behind Girard College. For those of you not from this area, Girard College has a rather "interesting" history.) I'm not sure if my pictures do this mural justice. Many of the shapes and objects in the mural are made up of tiny letters and words.
Those of you who know me, know about my love of dogs and my feelings about animal cruelty. I had to get some pictures of the mural called “Be Kind To Animals.” This mural was done by Willis Humphrey along with help from Phillies’ star second baseman, Chase Utley and his wife Jen Utley, who worked with the Mural Arts Program and students from the Anna B. Pratt Elementary School in Philadelphia. For those of you who aren’t aware, the Utley’s through their foundation, “The Utley Foundation”, provide a significant amount of time and money to raise awareness and educate the community about issues related to the proper care of animals and to help lead the fight against animal cruelty.
